Restoring families through Jesus

Who We Are

City Of Hope Church exists for one reason...to lead people to Jesus who is able to rebuild homes, repair families and restore people to who they were called to be. We believe that God has a destiny for each and every one of us and that He wants us to walk in that destiny.

Our Vision

Our vision is to be a thriving, Christ-centered community that transforms lives and impacts our city and beyond with God’s love. We aspire to be a beacon of hope, welcoming all people to experience the life-changing power of Jesus, grow in their faith, and live out their purpose. Through intentional discipleship, compassionate outreach, and empowering leadership, we seek to inspire generations to follow Jesus and make a lasting impact on our world.

Meet Our Team

Pastor Josh & Shannon Yeatts

Pastor Josh & Shannon founded City Of Hope in 2020, meeting in their basement for the first couple of months. On August 16, 2020, City Of Hope officially launched at the Chatham Community Center. The church met there for 2 years before buying and renovating the old Worsham Appliance building, located at 37 S. Main St. in Chatham, VA.  Shannon leads the worship team each week with a beautiful, angelic voice.

Our Beliefs

We believe that Jesus is the son of the living God. Jesus came to earth, born of a virgin, lived a perfect, sinless life and was crucified to pay the price that man could not pay. He was buried and rose again after 3 days and 3 nights. He was then seen by over 500 eye witnesses and ascended into heaven where he now sits on the right hand of the Father, making intercession for you and I. One day, he will come again and everyone who has given their lives to him will spend an eternity with him in heaven.

In order to be saved, one must give their life to Jesus. The bible says we must crucify (or kill) our flesh and be raised to life with Christ. This means that salvation is more than a prayer, it is surrendering our lives to Christ and allowing Him to live in us. When we do, we have access to the Father that was forfeited through Adam and Eve.

The Bible is the inspired Word of God. Written by man, yet wholly inspired by God. It is God's instructions and revelations to mankind. Through the Bible, we can know God's plan for our lives and how to live for Him.
